Horn-tastic TV Show Themes (II)

Everything’s big in Texas.

For over a decade, audiences worldwide were thrilled and chilled by the antics of J.R. Ewing in the evening soap-opera Dallas.

I never really watched the show beyond the opening credits. The theme was simply horn-tastic and that was all I needed. I was in junior high school when this show came out. We all struggled with glee to get the high C at the end. It was like a badge of honor to even clam near it.

(By the sound of it, at least one of the studio players might have struggled with the last note a bit as well… )

The point here kiddies is that if you like a tune you hear on TV or a the movies, test yourself and write it out, or learn it by ear. It is a very useful skill when developed.
