Online Practice Tools

I had recently noted that I had seen students with a metronome app on their phones and recently also saw a link to Metronome Online. This is, not surprisingly, an online metronome that you can access from a computer or I believe any 2397582359 9e3e7bbb9b m Online Practice ToolsInternet capable device. It has all the standard marks and also generates an A440. I warm up near a computer much of the time and this is a handy alternate to a standard metronome.

On finding that link it occurred to me to check online to see what there was for a tone generator. The one I found and have tried is the Online Tuning Fork which will generate any pitch on a piano keyboard and has a few options as to how you can use it.

I have found it easily possible to use both in combination but you will need to adjust the volume of the tone generator down a bit to not obscure the metronome.

There are undoubtedly other options out there and I should mention that the Metronome Online site offers a phone app. This I have no idea how well it works and I believe again there are options out there from other firms.

UPDATE: I should also note that a Facebook commenter gave high marks to the Seventh String chromatic tuner that is also linked from the Online Tuning Fork mentioned above. Certainly worth checking out.
