- The Cowboy Band
A community summer tradition in the Black Hill since 1931 includes this tidbit:
It’s a family legacy for French horn player Jeannine Rude of Apple Valley, Minn. Her uncle, Wayne Shuck, helped reorganize the ensemble in 1983, with Fondy’s help. Shuck died in December.
Rude, who has been playing with the band off and on for the past 25 years, said she keeps coming back because of her family link to it, her love of music and her desire to keep the band together.
