Trumpet Video: Tre-Méndez

One unique thing we have at the Arizona State University School of Music is the Rafael Méndez Library, in honor of the legendary trumpet soloist, of which the online version may be found here. As is noted there, “The Library was established for the purpose of providing precise and complete information about the life and music of this extraordinary performer, composer and teacher.”

I had the honor of meeting one of the sons of Rafael Méndez (1906-1981) this past fall and recently wondered if videos of the family performing together were online, and they are! Below is a classic video clip of featuring Rafael Méndez and his sons Ralph and Robert 1957 performing the Tre-Méndez Polka. Happy music that makes you feel good. Enjoy!
