NHR: Follow-up to Orchestral Musicians Symposium
“Making Connections” was the subtitle of a presentation I gave at The Orchestral Musicians Symposium here in Phoenix yesterday.
The main goal was to demystify some of the myth and mirth behind Web 2.0. The bottom line is that if you are a musicians association and you are not taking advantage of all that the online world has to offer, you could be missing out.
The main tips for musician’s organizations wanting to improve their online media presence:
- Get an RSS platform
Most CMS web sites will crank out RSS for you
- Create and connect a facebook fan page
- Explore branding
It is a concept that goes beyond logos and merchandise
- Maintain continuity
Maintain a clear chain of command and a consistent message
