Video: Emmy Nominated Breathing Gym Daily Workouts DVD
A great recent product for breathing practice is the Breathing Gym Daily Workouts DVD, and one piece of news is that it was nominated for an Emmy Award in the category “Excellence in Informational/Instructional Production.” I describe the video further in this post, but also now, on YouTube, an excerpt of the DVD has been posted. If you are not familiar with this product, the below is a great introduction.
I have this DVD in the store at Horn Notes Edition, and it is available through many other online sources.
One other thought. While I know many brass teachers are at least generally familiar with The Breathing Gym, from a recent conversation with a brass teacher at another university I know that there are brass teachers that are completely unaware of The Breathing Gym and The Brass Gym by Pilafian and Sheridan. In brief, The Breathing Gym products are on breathing (!) and The Brass Gym is a playing warm-up and routine which I helped edit into a version for horn. These are products to encourage your colleagues to know better. They can be keys to reaching the next level; spread the word.
UPDATE: It won! Congratulations Sam and Pat!
