Student Horn Related Blogs
A sampling of students getting their blog on.
Blogging can have many benefits, both personal and altruistic. I pondered on these benefits for myself last January. It is an avenue to share experiences and engage in a discourse, and blogging has become an integral part of my total creative output.
For students and non-professionals — in tandem with private lessons, recording feedback, and practice records — blogging can be a great opportunity in reflective learning. It can provide a venue to ponder in depth upon the lessons being learned and goals being reached for.
Here is a sample of a few student blogs that are out there:
- Horn Logic
Jay (no last name given) is a horn player in Canada. - Hornist’s Journey
Arizona State University student Derek Wright. - Horn Artist
Jonathan Johnson is a recent graduate from the University of Southern California. - Newhornist’s Blog
Tina Barkan’s blog is unique in that she is starting over as an adult after a long break and is blogging about that experience. - horngal
Mary Corder is an amateur player in the Pacific Northwest.
I would encourage more students to blog about their lessons experiences and share with the world their insights.
If I missed one, please suggest it in the comments section below.
