The Bass Horn in Action
A true oddity.
Last year, a picture and description of Roger Bobo playing the Bass Horn was posted here. It is a one-of-a-kind monstrosity that is a site to behold.
At last a YouTube video has surfaced demonstrating this beastie.
My best guess — judging by the mouthpiece and the fingerings used in the Ein Heldenleben excerpt — is that this is basically an F tuba that has been re-wrapped into the shape of a French horn.
