Reviews: The Expanding Blogo-horno-verse
Newly discovered blogs of note.
The person who tries to live alone will not succeed as a human being. His heart withers if it does not answer another heart. His mind shrinks away if he hears only the echoes of his own thought and finds no other inspiration.

I subscribe to a large number of blogs and try to keep track of them using Google Reader. I recently found a few horn-related blogs that are new to me and are worth pointing out.
The New Hornist’s Blog offers a fresh perspective on horn playing. Tina Barkan is recently retired and after a 36 year hiatus, has picked up the French horn again. Her experience in years makes for interesting posts; these are things that my beginning and intermediate students deal with, but do not have the experience yet to articulate. Her blogs are inciteful and are very much worth checking out.
Pip Eastop has recently re-designed his site into a blogging platform with an RSS feed. As one of the UK’s most active freelance hornplayers he offers inside scoops into the scene there, including pictures from studio sessions. For example, he recently posted a picture from the sessions for the upcoming Terminator movie.
The more the merrier!
