I today noted a new blog by Michael Becker, Principal Trombone of the Tucson symphony. In his initial post, “Trouble with auditions,” he writes of taking auditions in an article very worth reading. A key point he makes is
One thing that is essential for the sanity of a career auditioner is that you can only be responsible for one thing: your playing. The rest is out of your control.
