We Still Offer the Masters Degree in Horn at Arizona State
I hate rumors. There is a rumor [in 2009] out there that Arizona State, where I teach the horn studio, is dropping the MM in horn performance. This is not true!
This rumor is actually based on fact, because ASU did recently cut a number of programs to help deal with budgetary issues; this included several Masters degree tracks in music. However, the track that horn students actually take is not, I repeat not impacted!
The proposed cuts have no impact on any student of any orchestral instrument so far as I can tell. All degree tracks that horn majors would actually be in are all still in place. In terms of horn it really is business as usual, I don’t anticipate any real changes. This is a great place to study horn, if you are considering schools do consider horn study at ASU.
