Writers Block and Finale
Frequent readers of this blog might think I have no trouble with writers block ever. “Ericson seems to be able to post something or other every week to the blog, and he has all those publications and the big website.” While I am a steady worker, some projects get stalled for various reasons for long periods of time. One project that has been stalled recently has been a technique book. It has been ready to start putting into Finale for months. Finally, last night, I got started.
Four years ago I could not do Finale. Rose French helped a great deal early on as she created most of the initial files for the High Horn book and helped me learn how to edit them. All my other publications I did all the work on the Finale files myself. I am particularly happy with how the Wagner tuba book came out. But Finale is one of those things that I have to be in the right place and time to do. Last night, the stars aligned; I think I will be able with some work every day knock out the technique book and more this fall.
