Off Topic: A Makeover for SBQ

A new web site for the Sonoran Brass.

Off Topic: A Makeover for SBQThe finishing touches are being added on a popular Phoenix brass quintet’s web site.

The Sonoran Brass Quintet has been around for quite a few years now and when they decided that their web site needed an overhaul they came to yours truly. Being a musician myself, I really enjoy making web sites for fellow musicians and with my intimate knowledge of music and the music business, I love to help.

So many performing arts web sites these days look very serious, and in redesigning the SBQ I decided to go in the opposite direction. I went for vibrant colors and a playful look.

At one time I would have not given Jupiter instruments a second look, but I hear that the company has really made great strides forward in an effort to increase the quality of their stock. A number of marching bands around the country have made the switch, including that of my alma mater, Arizona State University. The Boston Brass has long been associated with Jupiter.

Over time, the blank spots in this new SBQ site will get filled in but please feel free to take a look and offer an opinion.
