Assignment: Listen to Horn Music

The grades are all done and in now on another semester of horn at ASU. One of the courses this semester was a horn repertoire class, and one part of their written final was a short listening exam. The repertoire for this listening exam was based on the top section of my list of Horn Solo Works, the most standard and widely performed works in our repertoire.

I always think that this section of the test is going to be too easy but it always seems to end up being the hardest part of the test. Thus, a summer assignment: listen to and work on standard horn rep. In terms of listening there are many recordings, but my recent Top 10 Horn CD List has most of these works. Check them out.
