Stick With It

I have had several students take professional auditions lately and have one general piece of advice: stick with it.

While you have to go into any audition to try to win, audition preparation is in fact cumulative. You will be more consistent after several serious audition experiences and you will develop more of a sense of the style you need to master with more exposure to the works you need to play. While you should take stock of your situation after any loss, don’t be too hard on yourself. Do your best to make the next audition that much better. Stick with it.
