Good News from the IHS

I had a pair of good news items from the International Horn Society late this week.

The best news was finding out that I was elected to the Advisory Council of the IHS. This is certainly and honor, and I wish to thank those that voted for their support. My three year term begins after the Switzerland IHS workshop this summer (which I will have to miss due to other commitments in Taiwan and China).

Almost as high on the list was another piece of IHS news, that Dan Phillips (Memphis State) has been selected to succeed me as manager of The IHS Online. I know that he is already hard at work developing a new, CMS based site for the IHS; I will be working with him to ensure a smooth transition.
