Ericson Plays Arizona All-State Etudes


This fall the ASU CMENC chapter had a project to record the AMEA (Arizona Music Educators Association) all-state audition etudes. They are now online at http://www.asu.edu/clubs/cmenc/horn.html, feel free to check them out! These etudes were composed by hornist Douglas Akey for use at AMEA events. My favorites are numbers 4 (includes double tonguing) and 5.

UPDATE 2011: These were the Arizona All-State etudes for the fall of 2007. These were part of a rotating series of etudes for all the instruments especially composed as already noted by Douglas Akey, and have come back in 2011. As the original website was having problems, the CMENC chapter launched a new website this fall; the recordings of the 2007/11 Arizona All-State etudes for French horn may be found at:
