Triple Horns are Taking Over


SDtrip+horns 079 224x300 Triple Horns are Taking OverEvery month I am sure triple horn history is being made in the USA; at the professional level triples are being used more and more.

This week in January of 2007 marked a new milestone in triple horn use in Phoenix; four of the seven horns playing The Planets with The Phoenix Symphony were using triples. Present in the section were two Schmids (Principal horn and horn six), a Ricco Kuhn (third), and a Paxman (me, on fifth). Two years ago, when I purchased my triple, I was the only full time pro with a triple in the state. This was I am fairly certain the most triple horns used in a section in Arizona ever.

They are taking over!
